Hello, my grandfather was born in Casamassima and came to the US through Ellis Island in 1914. After doing some research, I found many cousins in Casamassima and have been communicating with them for about 3 years. I saw Elisa Nanna's email and wonder if she is a cousin.

I am looking for family history information, my great grand-mother was a contessa with the last name either Azzone or Azzona? Or if anybody knows anything about the Azzona(e) or Gassi family that would be much appreciated.

His brothers Joe and Cosmo still live in New York. I want to get in touch with someone who can help me get recipes from my grandfathers past and also a piece of fig tree(White) my grandfather loved so much. Please Help ! Thank You and God Bless

My father was born and raised in Casamassima. I went there this summer for my cousins wedding. Been there a few times when I was a kid also. Very beautiful town. Most of my fathers family is still there. My grandfather is buried there along with my great parents and many other family members. Recommend going to this area if you visit Italy.

This is very exciting. My brother just sent this site to me. Imagine a town with the name I've carried for years. My Godfather Dominic has told me stories of Bari..he was quite young when he came to America... My grandfather came first...got a job then sent for his wife (Catherine CampanaleCasamassima) and son. Our family of Casamassima has mostly stayed in MA. There are a few that have not. Anymore cousins out there?

Dear Giovanni,
Unfortunately the surname Romanelli is very common throughout italy. You also stated that you are from the region. If you mean the region of Puglia, then be informed that there are hundreds if not thousands of towns in Puglia. It would help to know the name of the town your paternal ansestors originated from. |

I was adopted into a family here in the U.S. in 1980. My name here is Jonathan Korte. I am told my family name from your region is Romanelli. Do you know anyone by this name or know how I could contact someone in the region to find out my family history. I don't know much other than the name and region. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am 26 years old and have started to get in touch with my past as much as possible. Grazie mille.
