Papers here state my grandfather - Francesco Nicolini - was from Palermo. Yet no records are found there. what do I do now? He married Rosa Sparnino (some say Sparacino) in 1918 and family lived in New Orleans, La.

My other grandfather was Frank Fiermonte. We will be traveling to Italy and plan on visiting Bari in October. Would appreciate any information on my ancestors.

Hi, I was so excited to find this website. I didn't realize that there was a place named Casamassima in Bari. My grandparents were from Bari. Their names were Felice and Gaetana Casamassima. They had 5 children: Margaret, Rose, Maria, Matthew and Clara. Felice and Gaetana came to the US and resided in the Bronx. Felice worked delivering ice to homes when he arrived in the US. I am curious as to whether there is still family living in Bari. I will have to do a little more research. My family somewhere along the line changed the last name to Casamassina. My dad, Matthew would like to visit Bari, so we plan on a visit next January. We are very excited about this.

Writing for Monsignor J. John Busco, who is 93 years old. He was Pastor of our church in North Philadelphia. His parents were born in Casamassima and I want to visit the town next ywar when I come to Bari. Does anyone know the "Busco" family in Casamassima? he also is related to the Tanzella family.
